SERVICE & REPAIR

PureSports is the Rohloff AG authorised service centre for service, repairs and warranty throughout Australia. Our technicians are trained by Rohloff AG in Germany (at the factory) and use only the Rohloff original spare parts and special tools for all works undertaken.

It is very important before any Rohloff Speedhub or Rohloff product is sent to PureSports for warranty, service or repair, that you contact PureSports or your local Rohloff bike shop first so we can organise the tests necessary to determine the nature and hopefully the cause of any suggested problem (we need to test the product on your bike before sending any Rohloff product for repair).

Warranty

The Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 has been exclusively constructed for the bicycle drive. The regular service check in accordance with our instructions secures the warranty entitlement and keeps the high value of your Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 in future.

Please, read the Rohloff Owners Manual first, before mounting and using the SPEEDHUB 500/14. We guarantee the flawless and technical fault-free running of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 for a period of two years (2) after the date of purchase. Not included in the warranty is normal wear of wearable parts. Wearable parts are: hub seals, jockey wheels on the chain tensioner, sprockets, shifter cables (internal gear mech), grip rubber of the twist shifter, break discs.

Service and Repairs

Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 gears are protected from dust and harmful moisture by operating in a service-free oil bath. The maintenance and care of the Rohloff system is limited to the following points:

  • Chain and chain tensioner should be regularly cleaned and relubricated, more frequently in rain/salt/mud environments.

  • The cable box of the external gear mech should be demounted approx. every 500km, cleaned and the cable pulley lightly greased from the hub-mating side.

  • Shifter cable tension should be regularly checked and adjusted

  • Rohloff shifter cables are made from high-quality stainless steel and run in a nylon liner (DO NOT grease or oil the cables). The stainless steel-nylon combination runs service-free.
